Bullying and violence, crime and justice, culture and subculture, discrimination, drugs, employment and training, gambing, HIV/AIDS, pregnancy and parenthood, religion and spirituality, plus sexuality and sexual issues are all issues that are of concern to Australian young people. What about here in Indonesia? Are of these issues the same for Indonesian youth? Are there other issues that are special for Indonesia?
Here are some figures for you to consider. In 2005, the Australian Democrats Youth Poll talked with 1.013 students aged 15-20 years of age. The students were in schools, colleges, universities, youth and church groups, and welfare, charity and community organisations in every State and Teritory. The family was viewed as very important by 64% of the students. The second most immportant issue was health with 9% followed by education, relationships and money at 7%. Just on 62% rely on their parents or family for income while 28% earn money from jobs.
